In this example post I am going to give an overview of the Adam T7V active studio monitor speakers.

These speakers cost €199 each and are available in the EU from Thomann in Germany. The feature a 7" woofer along with a 1.9" U-ART ribbon tweeter. The woofer is powered by a 50 watt (RMS) class-D amplifier, while the tweeter is powered by a smaller 20 watt amp, also class-D. The crossover between these two speaker drivers is 2.6 kHz, while the total frequency response range is 39 - 25000Hz. Their high end response covers the upper limits of human hearing, however the low end would require an additional subwoofer to fully cover the spectrum. The maximum rated sound pressure level is 110dB, measured as a pair at 1 metre. The dimensions of each speaker cabinet are 210 x 347 x 293mm and the weight is 7.1kg.

These are the budget speakers in the Adam range, with the equivalent mid-level A7X speakers starting at €1,000/pair. The higher end S3V speakers are also available at €4,600 per pair. Overall these speakers offer terrific value for money when compared to the higher end options.
